Can-Car for me as well. Looks like the tow truck driver forgot to take his homemade cover off the end of the axle.

Most everyone was more or less right here, with a couple of you more right than the rest ! Leyland of Canada introduced these IH cabbed trucks around 1954 or so. By 1956 Leyland had entered into an association with the Canadian Car and Foundry Company Ltd, also known as Can-Car. The trucks built by this group were 1st known as Leyland-Canada, and then simply Canada. Canada trucks were only built for 2 years, until 1958. As you know, in the WAI the right answer is the name on the truck; this particular truck has Canada emblems on it. As I said, most everyone was right, but Don Mackenzie was the first to say Canada, and Bill White was actually closest with "Canada Diesel". Thanks to Mike W for this photo. The color photos are from Pat MacPhail.

Canada Diesel' Leyland Motor Corp decided to build trucks in Canada ca. 1954, and came up with the Leyland Beaver, They arranged with Canadian Car & Foundry to build the trucks, Can Car, as it was called, built buses, rail cars, highway trailers and aviation components. They used the Comfo-Vision cab, used by International, Diamond T and others, and a very distinct-sounding Leyland diesel engine. By 1956 renamed the truck Canada Diesel

It's interesting how these old Beavers changed their appearence completely - unless you knew what you were looking at, you'd never guess.

Same thing happened over time in Israel - the below is Leyland Ashdod Super Beaver and it looks nothing like the English original...
