Restoring an '80 Autocar. Want to remove the steering wheel to paint it. Got horn button off, all parts look good inside. However, was expecting to see a couple of tapped holes for a puller, but they aren't there. Instead there are 3 holes at 60 degree intervals through which you could thread a wire or something through the wheel, and try to fashion some sort of makeshift puller.

Otherwise it's the old block of wood beat it with a hammer trick.

Any ideas on how to pull such a wheel?

Thanks
