I am looking for a block for a Hercules model L engine, bore & stroke are 4.5 & 5.75. This would be from the early to mid 1920's. I would look at a complete engine to replace this one, a Continental Red Seal or large 4 cylinder Wisconsin engine should be an acceptable exchange.

A bit late in the day, I admit, but better late than not at all??
Do get into site every so often; apparently missed your post earlier...
If you're still looking for a Herc, your L seems to be part of a series---K 41/4, L 41/2, G 43/4 and E 5", all 53/4 stroke, that MIGHT be drop=in fits for each other,,,reply here for more info...
