I have a 1947 Macdonald Low-Body freight truck built in San Francisco I has Hercules WXLC-39 engine and IH 5 speed trans with very strange shift pattern
1 2 5
R 3 4
The truck runs and not too bad of shape except the doors are falling apart and missing few parts on the inside of them and the rear fenders have been removed, but I have few others chasis I can steal the fenders from. Out of 5 this is the only one I have with the Macdonald Cab. I really would like to restore it but have to find couple door latch parts and window regulators. My guess is they used the same as other trucks of the era,but which ones LOL.
I know that only a few were built in the last few years of production so Im sure things are scarce for them.Any help I could get would be appriciated.
The other one I want to get going is a 1943 Bubblenose Ford with a Macdonald Low-Body chasis

Talk to Terry Dovre at the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Oregon.
They have a McDonald they are restoring right now.
The Hays Museum in Woodland, CA has a restored McDonald from the 20's .

Also, Peterbilt got involved with MacDonald in the late 40's, they eventually became a division of Peterbilt I believe.
There may be some common hardware?

That is a very common shift pattern for an O/D 5th gear. That trans was used in many trucks for decades.
