http://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/73df47a2-923a-4856-9261-e0c5.jpgDoes any one know what this one was called? On the autolit page it is cut off and cannot see the name. Family I drove for in the 90's had there FLD's painted this scheme. Thanks in advance.

Notice anything similar about the paint designs in the pictures below? They're all the same "Las Vegas" paint scheme (#51884 for COE and #51894 for conventional), just with different color combinations.

Back in the good old '70s, Freightliner offered more than 40 factory paint schemes, including 26 that were shown in the paint design brochure (dated 5/79).

According to Freightliner marketing, most customers that ordered factory paint schemes would order them in the exact same color combinations shown in the paint brochure. However, some would order the paint schemes with different colors.

I remember most of the trucks I saw with the Las Vegas scheme had the "traditional" colors of silver base coat with berry red, orchid and concord blue stripes. Once in awhile, I saw the blue version of Las Vegas with the powder blue and chestnut stripes (see picture with woman standing next to truck).

With all these paint schemes plus 306 DuPont Imron fleet colors to choose from, the customer was offered somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 million color combinations!! :w00t: I'd say that's a good selection!

i got a ton of overdrive mags with the folding out front cover with the 3 page wide spread of freightliners sharpest paint schems on a hood an a COE,..an a racecar an hot model tooo,...ill see if i can figure a way to post some,..thay did this for most the late 70s an early 80s every month!

I have those same Overdrive mags with the foldout Freightliner ads you're talking about.  Those old ads are the best!  If I had a scanner, I would scan and post them, but all I have are these dinky pictures on my laptop.

You're right, those ads showed the sharpest, most popular Freightliner paint schemes ordered by customers.

It might be worth your time to do a search here. There's been a lot of paint schemes posted over the years.
