If it wasn't so late I'd call Tom Collier in Akron since he has one  ... Seems like they were built in Maine to get firewood out of the woods .

Bill is right.  I was hot to buy one a few years back, but sanity prevailed.

I'm sure glad Bill and Richard knew what this was, as it is so unusual I thought it might be some kind of prop ! But there is no doubt it is an honest to goodness Ravens Quadractor, built in Marietta, Ohio. The one in the photo is a 1980 model. I don't know much about this model but it must have some kind of hydraulic drive to each wheel. Thanks to Troy for the photo, and I humbly apologize to Troy for getting his name wrong in the original post (it's fixed now). Also thanks to Bill White for the additional info.

The four wheels are gear driven --shafts down the arms.  If you Google Quadractor, you'll find lots of hits , including some YouTube stuff.  Apparently, there is a large "support group" for these interesting machines. I wonder how many were made.
