Can anyone tell me when the 13sp came out? The first I saw was 68.

I would say mid '60s. I would need to do more research to pin it down further. I am going through '60s Peterbilt records as I have time. I will update this as I find earlier and earlier 13 speeds, but I do know that they were list in 1967 records. My gut feeling is that they were around a couple years before that. Often a new component is available, but not initially popular, it takes a year or two, or more.
