Looks like everyone had this, led by Bill White. This is the infamous Spangler Dual, an 8x4 twin Ford flathead V8 powered fire truck built in association with Hahn in 1950. Here's some info Dan Souday sent along:

This is a Spangler-Dual.Invented by D.H. Spangler and manufactured by HAHN of Hamburg Pa.U.S.A.

Only two were made and both were scrapped due to problems! They had 1000 gallon tanks, two 500GPM pumps, and two FORD engines.I know one was sold to Friendship F.D. in Morgantown P.A. and scrapped shortly there after due to all kinds of mechanical problems! It was tested by the Army in 1951 at the Aberdeen Proving Ground for possible military use.  It failed to meet military requirements and none were procurred.

The one unit that Friendship took delivery of was absolute junk.
The few times they tried to use it, it got stuck in the mud, as it was far too heavy and ungainly. I don't think there are any who actually had the misfortune to drive it, or work with it, who are still living. The elderly retired chief tells quite a story of how bad a reputation it had with those who did.

The second front axle was designed to make the vehicle the same at both ends, so it could be driven in and then back out, as though it would make no difference which way it was headed. I guess it looked good on paper...

Here's a link to some more pics. There seems to be conflicting info on whether one or two were built.

Thanks to Dan Souday for the photo and ad below.

Reminds me of an Eisenhauer. Maybe a Spangler/Eisenhauer joint project?

I don't have a clue, but am wondering, does the chassis articulate for turning? I don't see where the body would but it looks like the chassis might.  I cannot imagine trying to drive something like that in an emergency response situation....

According to those who operated it, this thing was a real monstrosity. Emblems removed. Photo from Dan Souday (and others).
