I agree with Bill FWD with Dodge cab.Possibly IH Red Diamond 450 engine as they used that engine often for gas powered trucks.

late 50's Federal. I think very rare as I have only seen one and it was not road worthy.

Several companies used the Dodge cab...I'd guess this is a Sicard.

First look said FWD, but the center and curve of the grill is not right, I'd have to agree with federal.

1957 FEDERAL Golden Eagle,,,as Dan said, would be VERY rare today, Federal was near the end at that point in time with corporate BS and not keeping up with changing markets.

Put my glasses on this a.m. and took a second look. Tain't a Dodge cab at all, but one of Federal's last gasps. Dodge truck cabs of that era did not have the low door handles as pictured on the rig in Jeff's photo. A Xerox-like copy of this same photo is in the Burness book.

I know your thinking 56 Ford cab, but I don't think so, the door is to flat to be a Ford, the door on the Ford had more of a swell below the window.

Michelle, I think you're right. Compared to these photos of my Dad's 56...the doors appear to be different.

We started to go off on a few tangents here but "Mackdaddy" Dan Thomas set everyone straight. This is a 1957 Federal. I think this cab was Federal's own, as they had used it since 1951 with only a windshield change. It does look a lot like a mid-'50's Ford. I've never seen one of these trucks, so I would agree they must be rare.

John, another thing the Federal cab did not have compaired to the Ford was the over hang above the windshield.
