Not sure the Freightliner frame will mate up to your KW frame. The Freightliner frame is narrower.

If theres very much of a slope you'll gain a few inches anyway, then let the air out of the tires. On the other hand its either a jack hammer, a chainsaw or a job for Dean!

Yea, I'm planning big things with no money too!

I bought a new house with a 30x32' garage, 10 foot interior ceiling, 8" doors. I've been measuring and planning on how to get my extended hood in there to strip it down and repaint it. The truck is 8'9" to the top of the cab if I take the lights and horns off. My crazy plan is to build some type of cradle to hold the front end up with the front axle barely clearing the ground. Pull the hood off, drive the front end of the truck in, pull the steers, set it on the cradle and push the rest of the truck through with low pro 22.5's on the rear axle only. Driveway slopes away from the garage so it should keep the rear of the truck low enough until the bunk is through the doorway. Then I've got it in my own place and can take my time. Its going to be close, but I think I can get it in.

Then I want to totally strip and repaint the truck and frame, install a wood floor and new seats. I've got some ideas for a few custom bolt on filler panels here and there. I would like to get crazy and do some full fiberglass rear fenders, not sure on that yet. Custom flush mounted deckpate ahead and behind the fifth wheel. Truck with be tasteful with a few bolt on upgrades, no crazy modification to screw it up.

Ok, with all the snow some of you have gotten, I am probably not the only one sitting around planning ways to spend $$$ that you dont have on projects that will have to wait till spring (or longer) My problem is not really the weather, although right now with all the snow we got melting my yard and drive way are saturated, and have to have 4 wheel drive to get in my yard, but even after we dry out I still cant do anything till I get my back fixed. I go to see the Ortho spine DR on Wed to find out finally after a year and a half, if he is giong to fuse the L-4, L-5, and L-5, S-1 (two level fusion) but in the meantime here are some of the projects I have come up with, let me know what you all think! 1st strip the 88 Freightliner cab over and pull the engine, trans, rear end, fuel tanks, and everything else that I might want or need, then scrap out the rest to recoup some of the $400 I paid for both trucks. Then take the 96 Freightliner frame and rears I have lying around, and weld them to the 89 KW aerodyne frame to make a long wheel base tandem truck, rebuild the Big cam IV 400 in it, leave the 14-6-13 tranny. That makes one truck Done, next pull the NTO 262 and quadruplex out of the 61 923 KW and replace it with the 88 Fleet 300 big cam IV and 10 speed from the wrecked Freightliner cab over, and put the 1241-C Aux I have behind the 10 speed,Pull the walking beams, and SLHD rears, add the 3' or so of aluminum frame I have to the back and put a Pete air leaf set up from the scrap yard my buddy has, put in the 3:55 SQHD's from the 8 bag cut off I have, that will finish truck #2, then I dont know what to do about the 63 L-924 KW, it has an NH-250 that runs, but no tranny. I thought about replacing the 250 with the 262 & quad box, or just putting the quad box behind the 250, if I do that then truck #3 will be done. I would like to talk Bill Donnelly out of his B-773 SX Mack with the L cab, it has no running gear, but came with a cummins & quad box, so if I got that from him I could put the 262 & quad box into it to make 1 more truck, but then I would be short a tranny for the 63 KW! I have an old 10 speed from a late 60's KW cabover, but no telling what kind of work it needs, probably just good for a core! Sooo you see I have lots of good "junk" to work with, just no $$$ to put it all together. I am fortunate enough that when I am able to go back to work and make some $$$, my 98 FLD is ready to roll, just need to update tags & ins.....Doug
