Got a small cam cummins with top stop injectors do you use the interbase method or the outerbase? I set them like we always done the small cam torque injector first and then the valves engine turned everything seemed ok but just wondering about this if the outerbase was correct for this set up. Don't know why somebody has changed everything on this engine guess they were trying to get more h.p.And no tag on it or pump to get a cpl or pump code.Have not tried to start yet what about it Glenn or anybody that has run into this. And yes it definetly is a small cam

It should have been run with the interbase  but you will be ok like you did it.Using the interbase is were the preload on the injector has already been factored in and it is a more accurate way of setting .Some times when torquing with a torque wrench the threads on the injector adjusting screws can be dry and binding and that will take away from the torque wrench. I have seen guys set the lock nut on the adjusting screw so tight that it binds the threads forever.

i say you will be ok if the injectors are built for that cam or cpl. Yes the later small cam engines did have topstops. The topstop nut or stop has to be sey when the injector is rebuilt to the specs of the cam lift that is is going in.Years ago some guys would remove the top stop nut and set the overhead with the outerbase way which was ok.Same injector all but the stop nut.
