My move is complete and I am settled in my house in Oak Harbor, WA. My truck now lives in my garage and gets out more often. I had it out last night but embarrasingly I managed to tweak my mailbox backing back into the driveway in the dark... Backup lights are in my future . BTW I didn't hit the post, just caught a corner of it and sort of twisted it on the post. Didn't notice until I left for work in the daylight. I am setting my sights first on some sort of show in September and then next on the Spring. My ultimate goal will be to have the truck looking as good as it can for Pleasanton. For me that means as good as I can make it in it's current paint. I cannot get it repainted before then, not enough time or funds to do it. I may be able to have the chassis very clean and repainted though or at least patched and looking good for the most part. Projects mostly in order coming up:
Modify shift lever
New shift boot installed with new air lines
Lots of electrical projects
All my wires going to back need replacing
Lights
Interior
The list could get long..
More later

Mailbox huh?... Orrin been visiting up there, and training ya?

The frame paint aint so hard.... provided you dont want to reach every square inch of it near the trans.. I just did mine, and there's just places ya cant reach unless its stripped.. But, unless you crawl under it, ya dont see it..

a hint... the floor un-screws in sections.. remove the rubber pad, undo the screws and replace the lines... it woulda been tons easier if I had know beforehand.. also, remove the splitter block from the trans and clean and lube it whilst yur there..chances are it'll need it, and its real simple, especially with that floorboard out...

shift boots are cheap on ebay, and at KW.. about the same price.. $25-35 w/ring.. I liked the aluminum one better, cause you can always sand the scratches and rebuff, chrome dont like that..

a coup[le hundred for paint, a hundred for sandpaper, tape, and fiber.bondo... get it ready for paint, make a new friend at a good paint place, pay a little, and advertise his shop on yur brag board at shows, in trade.. I need to do mine by then too..

btw, if you get the urge to replace them bad cotton covered airlines that are wearin out... aeroquip-type hose is usually $5/ft and up.. go to plastic and buy the fittings online..plastic is .06-.80/ft.. fittings about $5-6 ea.. just so ya know..

let me know if ya find a couple good xtra front corner lites, I wanna add 2..

The corner lights are available new from a Canadian company. I will try and remember and send you the name and part number. I think the Sterling dealers sell them. Not expensive either.

You need to have the truck looking as good as it can for the Open house at the PACCAR Tec. center in april

Lots of electrical projects
All my wires going to back need replacing
