Don't feel bad if you didn't get this one. It took me over 30 years to id an identical truck I found in a BF Goodrich ad back in the '70's. Jules has this one, this is a big Moreland built in Burbank, California. Moreland built this style truck from 1936 until they went out in 1941. Glee said Federal, and there is some conjecture that these Moreland cabs were actually sourced from Federal. The cabs are quite similar if not identical, although the noses are very different. There could be some basis for Moreland using Federal cabs. According to Robert Gabrick in Federal Trucks, "in 1935 Moreland became the exclusive distributor for Federal Trucks in Southern California, and parts of Arizona and Nevada. This unique relationship continued into the post WW2 years despite the decision to end production of Moreland Trucks in 1941". Sounds like something for Moreland and Federal historians to ponder. Thanks to Don MacKenzie for the Moreland photo, the ad is from my collection, and Bill White sent the photo of another Tovrea's Meat Products truck, a big 1937-40 International, probably a D-70.
