| in the case of alaska.......they getta percentage of everthing that goes down the trans alaska pipeline.....you could almost consider that they are in the oil bizz also....cause they sell crude on the market also ...[besides the drill site leases that they hold]...... ..... thats onnea the reasons why alaska residents dont pay state income tax [yet anyway]... ..... ...the yearly slidein scale permenmet dividend fund [pfd fund as its know in alaska] issa yearly check issued to every man /woman /and child that hassa valid alaska residency......since 1980 it has ranged from 500 dollars to as much as 3 thousand dollars [US]....... .... ...contrary to populer belief ....the amount of the yearly pfd that is issused has really nothin ta do with the price of crude oil at the time.nor how much that the state has collected from the oil industry......but ...rather based on the profits of the state of alaska,s investments... ...they have [or did have] millions invested in stocks and bonds and many outher funds..... the state even owns many commercial properties all over the world .... ....those expectin ta see much outta the pfd fund fer the next few years though are gonna be very dissappointed iam fraid [if it will still exist at all] ...... ..... ...fer some reason though..........we in alaska haveta pay the highest fuel cost of anywhere in the united states....even though we have 3 refinerys in state....[2 of which are directly connected and draw from the trans alaska pipe line] ......go figgir

| Adding a female truck driver to the show, especially one with such a cocky attitude, really turned me off. I'm a female welder so seeing her act like that was disgusting. I doubt I'm gonna watch it anymore.

What "reality" show hasn't gone there? When they were "documentaries", it was exciting to watch. Now they have to have all the "drama" and it ruined it. Yes it gets kind of pathetic at times. The discovery channel had a crew at one of our job sites in Philly for 4 days video taping us doing our thing 3 weeks ago. It is for a new show that starts after first of the year. They were always asking us to make things more dramatic.

I can see some of the problems but the stretch called the "roller coaster" and a couple of other narrow areas could be improved. I would hate to start down that hill on a layer of ice. I'm affraid I'd have to reach over and wake up "Leroy" cause he ain't never seen a wreck like we were fixing to have.

In Oklahoma, "all the money made off of diesel" goes into the pockets of the oil companies. Tax rates are set by the gallon, not a percentage of price. Check oil company profits for last year and it is easy to see who is making the money.

The biggest factor involved would be the sheer cost. Trying to pave a mile of road on regular ground is costly enough, but over 500 miles of wilderness would be prohibitive. Imagine the hurdles you'd have to go through just getting past the environmentalists to even widen it out some, let alone make it an Interstate-style highway.

| My son and I watched the entire second season last sunday while we were broke down in Bowling Green, Ky. I had not watched the show before but really thought it wasn't bad. It kept our interest. We then watched the start of the new season and it was entertaining. I, like michelle, was glad to see Alex back on the show. One thing the show pointed out was the dangerous aspects of the road which can only be verified by those who have driven it. The camera angles and the producers may tend to make things look a little worse than they are but only those running the road could attest to the danger. My question would be," Why hasn't the road been improved"? With all the money being made off diesel prices that road should drive like a dream.

Alex is back? I am glad to hear that, he was my favorite one. Last season I thought he may have been out for good with a bad ticker. Glad he made a recovery.
