... is there a way to be notified by email if a topic you've created (or replied to) gets a response?  That's a nice feature that some boards have.

Yes you can be notified of responses to your messages by email.

Click on the words "Topic Option" in the upper right corner of each thread.

Click on "Subscribe to Topic"

From the drop down list select "Immediate notification of new post by Email and click "Subscribe"

I have done this and am being notified by email when someone adds a message to the forum I'm interested in.  One question though:  The URL (link) arrives in a text-format message and is therefore un-clickable (I have to copy and paste into my browser's address field).  Can you tell me how to have ATHS send emails as HTML and not text so the link will be clickable?  I cannot find this option anywhere on the site.  Thanks.

The links are disabled by your email program. Chances are that you'll need to tell it that the Emails from the Forums are legitimate and should be trusted. In Outlook its as easy as dragging a mesage from your Junk Mail Folder to your inbox. This will ask if you trust the person who sent the message and you should answer YES. You may also need to add a contact for the email address used to send you messages.

What program are you using for email?
