Some of you may have seen that there is now the Chattanooga Chapter. Our chapter was formed by ATHS Members from the states of Tennessee, Georgia, & Alabama. Our chapter is really excited to be acknowledged by the ATHS. Our First official chapter sponsored show is coming up June 12th, 2010 in Monteagle, TN. We hope if it is economical for you, come out and support us. This event will be free admission and no entry fee. Thanks to all the Chapters in the ATHS. So what happened to the Lone Star Chapter?  Is it completely gone now?

All I need is one more good deal and I'll be out of business.

I'll stick with the old and they can stick the new.

That's an appropriate name for a chapter, it's sure to spark interest and revive stories about the region's heritage . I like it !  And congratulations for ramrodding to get the group started .

Our headquarters (at least where we're having our meetings) is Longview at the shop of our Sec/tres Dwayne Fuller. He has a large collection of hit and miss engines so there's lots to see. Dwayne's place is where we will have our shows.

Good luck to you, Tony and all the others starting out with you.  Where will you be headquartered?
We original members of the Lone Star Chapter (Ft Worth/Dallas area) were not so fortunate as it went "south" a couple years ago. Glee

Congrats on starting up a new chapter Tony!  If I ever get a chance to come your way, I'd come to a Wildcatter show, sounds like it would be a blast!

If headquarters approves everything, the East Texas Wildcatters Chapter will officially exist. We chose our name because (1)the early day independent truckers were known as wildcatters and (2) we're in the middle of the east Texas oil field. Plenty of wildcatters were drilling wells back in the '30's and '40's. Lots of enthusiasm now, hopefully we can start recruiting more members. Our plans are to have a show next spring in conjuction with a stationary engine show that our Sec/Tres puts on. If things go real well we might try to have something this fall.

I am glad to hear that your meeting turned out well, and things are starting to roll. Good luck and if you need anything please feel free to call me. If you like I can try and make your meeting when you choose your officers. Just let me know.

Michelle
