The Deadhead Miles Pete was on Ebay last month. It was in Maryville TN (Knoxville area) where alot of the movie was filmed. Had been repainted red/blk. Still in good shape.

the red and black your were thinking about is from the movie "Smokey and the Bandit 2" as well that truck was a '68

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_61326-Peterbilt-359-1968.html

This truck^here is not even the truck I'm talking about.

The truck was listed on Ebay as the Deadhead Miles truck. The truck had been re-painted red/blk. Nothing to do with Smokey and the Bandit.

just thought you were talking about that one, because that one is in the TN area too, so, I appologize, anyway I hope who ever owns the Deadhead Miles truck now is taking good care of it, as it use to be up here in this area back in it's Yellow & Brown days, all I know about the one from Smokey and Bandit II is C.O. Bruce use to own the truck until he recently sold it to someone in the TN area

THAT CAN NOT BE A 68 THEY DIDN'T BUILD EX. HOODS TILL 69. STARTED WITH SER. NUMBER 30000.IN 69

that's what it says here, straight from the prior owner said it was a 68:

Lance, There is a great deal of mis-information out on the internet, learn to consider your source! (I don't believe anything on facebook or Ebay) If 68crackerbox says that they didn't build extended hoods until 69 that is probably pretty much gospel.

PS I thought the truck in the second movie was a GMC not a Peterbilt.

it is a GMC General in the movie, but I am not talking about Snowman's rig, I'm talking about one of the Peterbilt's from the desert scene, I'm unsure weather or not Crackerbox was talking about the General or Pete

here's the Peterbilt I am talking about (here it is in the movie) we see it for a split second

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_61326-Peterbilt-359-1968.html

the truck use to be owned by C.O. Bruce until he sold it recently, to someone in the TN area and that's all I know about it

Dear MPowell:

I am modestly interested in your older 40 foot hopper trailer. Please forward a picture or two and details and location to RogerDurban@aol.com.

Thank you.
