I have a Rockwell SSHD that needs to have the front differential repaired or replaced (it has a whole blown threw the side of it) My question is - dos it have to be replaced with a SSHD differential or are there other Rockwell differentials that will bolt in and function properly ? Thank you.

None that I know about....if so then quite likely you would be changing both...fix it or find a good used same ratio unit.

For governments who try to tax themselves into prosperity is like standing in a bucket and trying to lift themselves up by the handle.

STHD and SUHD (50,000 and 58,000 lb) rears are in the same family and the only difference may be the side gears and axle shafts. (the housings will be different thickness, but the center sections will bolt in).
The chances of finding the heavier version are much less likely than finding another SSHD
