When I first came into ownership of my C8000 just a couple of months ago one of the first things we did was re-lamp all the blown bulbs that we could, and especially those needed to be road-going. My issue arose as one of the rear facing reverse lights was burned out. When I pulled the bulb it was obviously blown so I swapped it for a new one and when I shifted into reverse everything worked for an instant and then died. The beeper as well as both reverse lights now fail engage when the truck is in reverse. We have re-fused the entire fuse block since then (old fuses were corroded) and I have traced what wiring I can find. If anyone has a better idea what common link is shared between the beeper and the bulbs and where it might have failed I would be very grateful for that knowledge.

Start at fuse block, then move your way back.. if power at fuse then check switch on trans. If power at trans make sure switch is working. If working, follow wiring to beeper and lights.

Having not been this deep into the vehicle, where on the trans would you typically find that switch?

MT 643 Allison ............or a stick shift ?

If Allison, reverse switch likely in the shift Quadrent, but it could be screwed in side of trans. I'd have to recheck my drawings to see where on trans body it might be as it's been 32 years away from the product.
