I'm looking for specifications and years that Mack B422 was built. Also, want to know if it had a tilt hood.

John Montville's book on Macks lists 923 B442 Macks made from 1960 to 1965. He also lists model B4426 made from 1961--64 with only 14 made! AS for tilt hoods, i seriously doubt any B series had a factory fitted tilt hood. However, there were aftermarket, fiberglass tilt hoods available, made by aftermarket firms, "back in the day".

According to Jerry Gilliam (owner of this truck) they were only made for 1 year with the tilt style hood from the factory. He has this one setting on a 1979 Chevy 1 ton dually chassis with a 455 Oldmobile rocket engine and new western hauler bed, it has been totally restored(very custom) with 4 wheel disc brakes, power windows, powersteering, ac, etc. He just listed it for sale and you can call him for more info if you are interested - 870-761-5017

Don't forget the BCR kits..........that would give it an R model hood.......that looked nuthin' like this . Clariben was the most prominent glass hood I ever saw on a B model.

So, technically Jerry Gilliam could be right .....considering BCR .

Look closely at the headlight area, same tri-oval as the John Kilmer photo which is a Clariben. B model Macks never came from the factory with quad headlights.
