Yup, the truck is home now, at least until it is time to fit the bunk. The process of road-testing it is well underway. I think I've put about 300 miles on it, a little at a time. I'm chipping away at my punchlist to wrap it up, but the going is slow, as I am waiting on my decal supplier and floor mats, as I am trying to get the original floor coverings reproduced.

Cam, it looked great in Mike's garage but it looks even better when you can see the whole truck.

Sadly no, I have neither the 18 days off nor the $10,000 which a 5,200 mi. trip like that likely requires. I need to save my dollars to complete the interior and floor coverings in the cab, then completely redo the bunk, which is its own separate project.

As far as stealing the paint scheme, go ahead; I stole it from someone else (and the Pete paint scheme brochures). When I first wanted to use that scheme (you know, like in 2009), it wasn't quite as popular as it has become recently. The blue and white were colors used on the truck originally, though in a completely different scheme, and I picked the orange out at the paint distributor. For several years I toyed with different scheme mockups, but kept returning to that one. I have literally dozens of these with two different bunks, in all sorts of different schemes and colors. I spent hours and hours trying different options:

Looking good, Cam --in fact, VERY good. You are going to drive it east to York, PA in May, aren't you? AND when do we get treated to a sound track to hear that big CAT go wop, wop, wop??

Life  is like a roll of toilet paper the closer  you get to the end, the faster it goes!  Enjoy each day.

Cam, if I was building a conventional, I would seriously consider stealing you paint scheme and color combo. That is a beautiful truck!

Well Jr. went down and look in my scrap pile and found some somewhat decent quarter fenders and brackets and some old turn signal lights and
then built a junk box on the bed, and then rattle can the rest of the frame, I though it came out pretty good so I posted a couple pics for you. :) P.S Jr. is only 14 years old. http://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/cd2c0537-c32a-472e-99af-de80.jpg:cool: http://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/a2d328d6-0175-4dc6-a3e4-6211.jpghttp://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/c393d828-0fb3-46a3-bfb7-17f4.jpghttp://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/dc427c1b-a731-4f16-8639-07ab.jpghttp://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/f44fbb97-33b4-41c9-bd3f-9097.jpg
