Wow, the memories of those Farmalls. The old saying was, "Too fast for the field....too slow for the road..."

Thanks for these pics.

Wow! Thanks a lot everyone. That is exactly the brochure I was hoping to see EPRSPLIT. I had the cover pic of it that I saved from another site. I love the colour scheme of that truck. I always liked the Transtars but that is the one IH model from the 70's up that I have never had the chance to drive.

There used to be a lot of the coe's around this area back in the 70's and 80's and a handful of the conventionals. I don't know how they were to drive, but I like the shape and the styling of the 4070's.
So now I know they did change the dash between the A and B models.

Thanks for that link Mark. Like I said, I am new here, so just getting started at going through all the threads. But there is a lot of nice pics in there.

I read somewhere that Cat power was rare in them. Is this true?

Thanks,

Shawn.

Thanks Mark. Do you still work it? I was suprised to see it has the same dash as the 9300 I drove.

A guy that lives by me has a nice one too, a 78 I think, tandem dump with an NTC 400. But the hoist broke a couple months ago and it wrecked.

I think International should get more credit than what they did. They had some of the nicest factory paint schemes and they were the only one I've seen with a sink and running water in the bunk from the factory. (Until the recent Volvo's)

On the Transtar 4070 coe's....did they use the same dash style throught the 70's and 1980 or did the 80/81's use the dash they switched to for the 9670's?

BH-    Click this link and wander through the next couple of pages..  You'll see mine at work last fall and an immaculate 4300 owned and driven by my friend Bruce..

After my grandpa passed in 1973 my grandmother sold his 1959

Autocar DC75 sleeper and leased one of these 4070's until she

finally bought one for my grandpa's ongoing business in 1978.

The company driver loved it......it was eventually stolen from the

IH dealers lot while it was getting a service.
