This truck is indeed a Sanford, correctly identified by our super-sleuths ! This is a 1927 Model DW-6 with a Buda 6 cylinder engine. Sanford trucks were built by the Sanford-Herbert Company of Syracuse, New York from 1911 to 1937. Models from one to 5 tons were built. Thanks to Dan Souday for this photo.

It would have been neat if Fred Sanford had a Sanford truck on his TV show.  I guess the Ford was the next best choice but the Sanford would have fit right in.
