I'm a purist. No lights on the box and only period correct stop tail and signals. I actually have the big "STOP" light off our original Biederman that will be installed. I'm looking for some of the steel type reflectors for the body.

I suspect that those boxes never were equipt with lighting of any kind.

For governments who try to tax themselves into prosperity is like standing in a bucket and trying to lift themselves up by the handle.

I'm getting close. I got it back from the fabricator yesterday. Body is mounted and works well. It is safely put away for the winter and I will get it painted in the spring. This could be the year I see this project completed. This was the perfect find for a body. This is an authentic 1947 Galion body, same vintage as the truck. We had to do some work on it but it was a good one to start with. We rebuilt the tailgate, added a cab guard and replaced the floor. It will show a few authentic dents when finished but I prefer that to a new edition body on an old truck. It's been a long project but worth it to me. Just sad my Dad didn't get to see it finished. It was important to him.

The Biederman dump body project is coming long. So far I have been able to secure a new PTO and adaptor to clear the emergency brake band, cleaned up and mounted the sub frame and hoist, sandblasted the body and we are now fabricating some replacement parts. When the floor was sandblasted it revealed some bad spots so we removed it along with the front panel which was badly dented. The tailgate had seen some amateur modifications so we are rebuilding that too. Fabrication should be completed next week. Painting may wait until spring but we are well on the way to completion. This body was a find being a 47 Galion body, correct for the truck. I've included a few shots of where we are. It's only money.

It's taken a while but I've finally located an appropriate dump box for the Biederman. I've chased this one for 4 years and finally gotten my hands on it. I have to bump out a few dents and add a cab guard but this is nearly identical to the one that washttp://forums.aths.org/Uploads/Images/cd34e346-c72e-4632-ba04-b4b5.jpg on the truck I'm recreating. Hope to get it complete in the coming year.

...So very nice to see her in all her completed state. I'm sure it will be a very, very long time before someone else does a National Standard Biederman.

...Congratulations on a fine restoration.
