I'd say you could make anything you wanted to out of this Diamond T.

Diamond T 980/981 cab and front end sheetmetal that has been grafted on to a Ward LaFrance/Kenworth series 5 chassis. They used Ward LaFrance fenders and a wrecker bed off of a Diamond T 969.

This is from "Wild Night At The Military Surplus Yard".  Here we go:  FEDERAL C2 Chassis and fenders.  Diamond T 980/981 cab, hood (with filler bottom half) and radiator.  Diamond T 969 bed  (reversed) and a who knows boom.

"Wild night at the military surplus yard" it is, and Don MacKenzie was the 1st to put all the pieces together. The cab, hood, and radiator on this truck originated on a Diamond T 980 or 981, while the chassis/fenders/running boards and boom are Federal model 606 C-2 air force wrecker. The rear body resembles the Diamond T 969 wrecker body, but if it is it has been highly modified. The only thing missing are the big Cleveland air shocks on the front of the Federal chassis. Thanks to Dan Souday for the WAI photos; the Pickfords Diamond T 980 is in Europe, and the Federal C-2 is owned by military vehicle collector Jeff Chester.
